On Monday, August 21, 2017, only people in the path of totality will see a total solar eclipse, but most people in the US will still get to see a partial solar eclipse. The total solar eclipse, nicknamed the Great American Eclipse for its long path over North America, will be visible in the sky today over 14 states from Oregon to South Carolina.
