Mexico Advances to CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup Semifinals

Ovalle Scores Twice in 3-2 Victory

Mexico has advanced to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup after defeating Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 in a thrilling match. Lizbeth Ovalle was the star of the show for Mexico, scoring two goals to lead her team to victory.

The match was played in front of a sellout crowd at the BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas. Mexico took the lead in the 15th minute when Ovalle scored her first goal of the match. Trinidad and Tobago equalized in the 25th minute, but Mexico regained the lead in the 35th minute when Ovalle scored her second goal of the match.

Trinidad and Tobago equalized again in the 60th minute, but Mexico scored the winning goal in the 75th minute when Maria Sanchez scored off a cross from Ovalle.

Mexico will now face the United States in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup. The match will be played on Monday, July 18 at the BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas.
