Early Life and Military Career

Benny Gantz was born in 1959 in Kfar Ahim, Israel. He joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 1977 and served in various combat units. He rose through the ranks and eventually became Chief of Staff of the IDF from 2011 to 2015.

Political Career

After retiring from the military, Gantz entered politics and founded the Israel Resilience Party. He joined the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2020 as Minister of Defense. However, he resigned from this position in 2021 due to disagreements with Netanyahu.
